Ariana Grande released her sixth studio album, Positions on October 30th, 2020. Her last two albums- 2018’s Sweetener and last year’s Thank U, Next were devastatingly powerful explorations of personal trauma. Positions has a total of 14 songs, with special guests making appearances. Doja Cat on “Motive,” The Weekend on “Off the Table,” and Ty Dolla $ign on “Safety Net” all lend their voices to Positions. Her new album represents sustained healing brought upon by new love. While keeping her guard up, she ate and left no crumbs leading to a whole new side of her that fans have not seen before. She paid homage to a lot of lyrics from her last album Thank U, Next that proved she had healed from the past trauma she had from the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. Grande’s new album is specifically pop but it’s heavily influenced by R&B styles. Her voice remains the main attraction for her fans with her ethereal feeling.
