Conan Gray’s highly anticipated debut album Kid Krow was released on March 20th, 2020. The album contains the hit singles Maniac, Checkmate, Comfort Crowd, and The Story.

The album consists of 12 tracks: Comfort Crowd, Wish You Were Sober, Maniac, (Online Love), Checkmate, The Cut that Always Bleeds, Fight or Flight, Affluenza, (Can We Be Friends?), Heather, Little League, and The Story.

In an Instagram live during the release day of the album, Conan discusses the process of working on the album as well as celebrating the anniversary of the song Idle Town which he says initiated his music career.

During his live stream, a fan asked what his favorite song is, and he explained that he wrote hundreds of songs and carefully chose the ones for the album. He loved them all, however, Heather was one of the more meaningful songs to him.

The album was announced just before Conan’s Comfort Crowd tour, where each ticket that was purchased would include a free cd copy of the album.

Fans were given a sneak peek of what was to come in the album with some released singles. Conan dropped his song “ Wish you were sober.” two days before Kid Krow was set to release, the upbeat song juxtaposed with angsty lyrics set the mood for the album. A complete 180 from his previously released EP Sunset Season.

Where Sunset Season was upbeat and lively the songs on Kid Krow were mellow and had many different beats and sounds. Conan was able to capture the emotions of heartbreak and loneliness as well as nostalgia.

The album gave fans worldwide a way to connect, they quickly took their thoughts to twitter and live-tweeted about their experience while listening to the album. Needless to say, this album raised the standards of Conan’s music and is setting the bar high for new music.
