endgame kills

By Samantha munilla
el rodeo staff writer

Avengers: Endgame perfectly ties up Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) catastrophic use of the infinity stones wiping out half of the Earth’s population in Avengers: Infinity War. With a sense of grief, those that were left behind are desperate to do something-anything-to bring back their loved ones. As it turns out, the effort to bring them back is the story of “Avengers: Endgame,” the last film in the series.
Dusting up the box office within the first five days, Avengers: Endgame hauled in more than $1.2 billion at the global box office. In the U.S., this Marvel superhero flick took in a record-breaking estimated $350 million on its opening day.
The new movie directed by Anthony and Joe Russo elongates the melancholy mood in which “Infinity War” ended. From the beginning, “Endgame” links to the previous film with a series of deaths and near-deaths, new mournings, a narrow escape, and a group of surviving Avengers, twenty-three days after Thanos’ massacre, preparing the final mission.
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) stays grieving the death of a young Peter Parker (Tom Holland), leading him to erupt with wrath at his companions, especially at Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). From the death of many, Tony decides that he does not want any part of the mission-or the Avengers.
The action-packed movie then jumps ahead to five years, when the survivors of the snap inhabit cities in ruins. However, the remaining Avengers come across a plan delivered by Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), to send the entire group back in time to recover the infinity stones and undo Thanos’ murders. Although the science is not good enough to go through with a plan, Stark has a change of heart and sparks a reconciliation with his fellow teammates.

As the movie progresses, the Russo brothers made sure to incorporate some of the characters in a loop which involve their own origins and in some cases, they even encountered their own parents in earlier times.  The Russo brothers also took in the return of a beloved character, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and his change to become Ronin.

The core of the final battle is sparked by Thanos, who comes to a realization that he is under siege from the Avengers. As a result of this, he discovers a new scheme which involves the control of memory.
With a fantastic and diverse cast, Endgame becomes morally divided. Women are featured prominently throughout the film and are even shown fighting the heroic battle. Characters of color are also prominent and similarly shown throughout the film.
If you’ve enjoyed the previous Marvel movies make sure to watch Endgame as soon as you can. You can catch this action-packed movie in your local theaters and remember to stay away from spoilers!
