With many of us having to continue our education online for the remainder of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the biggest question many students and teachers share alike is: how will school look like next year.
Surely if we go back to in-person school, it will not be the same as how we left it during the beginning of quarantine on March 12th. There have been various ideas of how the school district will plan to function for the following school year. As it all depends on the spread of the virus and how the public responds to the stay at home order.
Many ideas include day and night classes to divide up the student population, having select classes at school and others online, and perhaps even remaining online until a vaccine has been distributed to the public.
One idea of how the school will function if we go back on campus is that all students and staff are required to wear a mask, having their temperature taken prior to entering school, separating lunches depending on grade, and staggered dismissal depending on the buildings the students have class, similar to a controlled dismissal we had last school year.
For all we know, we may be sticking to remote learning but nothing is for certain. We may be finding out how schools will function when we get closer to August when we go back to school in the fall.
