Last Thursday, students gathered for El Rancho’s most anticipated night of the year: Night Pep Rally! The class themes this year were Te Fiti Freshmen, Wreck-It-Ralph Sophomores, Flintstone Juniors, and Poco Loco Seniors.
The night began with a performance from Band, led by senior Isbeth Ramirez. They performed a part of their field show called, “Dia de Los Muertos.” With this performance, Band demonstrated that they’re not only good at playing their instruments, but also good at dancing.
Following Band, the Pepsters performed their usual routines flawlessly. Colorguard performed a variety of songs, while doing their thing. Choir left everyone speechless as they sang “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman.
In addition to the special performances from Band, Colorguard, Pepsters, and Choir, the El Rancho Staff and the El Rancho administration did a skit of their own that pumped up the crowd.
After Band, the competition began. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors each had their own essential feature to their skits.
The Te Fiti Freshmen took the stage at their first Night Pep Rally. Among their performers, there was an special appearance from Moana and Maui, portrayed by Freshmen students.
The Wreck-It-Ralph Sophomores recreated a scene from the upcoming movie, “Ralph Breaks the Internet.”
Flintstone Juniors brought out their inner cave person and rolled in their own Flintstones mobile.
The Poco Loco Seniors left their final mark as they threw marigold flower petals to “Remember Me,” featured in the Coco movie.
Scores were revealed at the end of the night with Moana Freshmen in 4th place, Wreck-It Ralph Sophomores in 3rd place, Flintstone Juniors in 2nd place, and Poco Loco Seniors in 1st place.
