Sabrina The teenage witch

By Sydney manrique

It’s not October, is it? Nope! Just another season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which doesn’t have to be featured on Halloween month. It was a surprise to hear about the show coming so soon and so sudden that many may or may not know about it. Well, maybe. Thanks to Netflix for the request and delivery of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, it should be known and proudly displayed on their app, and a trailer if you want to see what you’re getting yourself into. Go watch it! It’s waiting to be watched.
This ongoing horror fiction/occult fiction show has a total of 19 episodes overall, 10 from season 1 and 9 from season 2. It was released on April 5th and is still currently rated TV-14, which still shouldn’t stop you from watching its dark twists and magic. Right now, the adaptation of one of the most iconic teenagers in the witchy world is rated at a 7.8/10, but people are entitled to their opinions about how it’s rated, that’s just how IMDb wants to rate it. Just know that is it is still popular and will still run because season 3 and 4 have been picked up and announced by Netflix!
Here’s a fun fact: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was in a lawsuit, well Netflix who was responsible for the show--did you know? Awhile back, in November of 2018, Netflix got sued by the Satanic Temple. “Variety”, an online article website, had speculated that, “The Satanic Temple has settled with Netflix after filing a $50 million copyright lawsuit that accused the streaming platform of copying the temple’s statue of Baphomet in its new series “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” So there is no more dispute about the claims taken about the alleged statue, which happened to be a representation of the “Baphomet statue that bore a striking resemblance to the one created by the temple,” stated by the “Variety” website.
Now, what is this whole series about exactly, no-- the NEW season about? Well, this is a no-spoiler-zone here, but remember how Harvey and Sabrina broke up? They still are in this one, as this ship is by far popular. And the cover should say as to who she finds for a rebound spell (pun intended). That’s not all, Sabrina’s friends are still undergoing changes and conflict as Sabrina’s new darkside, at the end of season 1, emerges more often than you’d expect to see. And we all love those Holiday specials, like the Christmas one, except this one has throbbing hearts of blood dripping all over. Yup, a Valentine’s special. Go and watch!

Ambrose, as you may know is a LGBTQ+ character; who is the cousin of Sabrina and goes swell with the plot and characters, now includes another LGBTQ+ addition to the show. Chilling Adventure of Sabrina introduces a transgender character, a representation of how more LGBTQ+ is gathering quite the recognition in a popular show. It won’t be said as to who it is, because it does give away some plot, but I will say that they don’t hide what’s really inside and how transgender people can comfortably relate with pride for their community.
To be honest, there is a wait for the next season, for good reason, as it is self-explanatory as to how the season has performed and how Netflix has announced the next 2 seasons arising in the near future. Go watch it, please! If you don’t have Netflix, ask a friend and enjoy! You won’t regret watching the elements of darkness and uniqueness it brings to life!
