On February 7th, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, becoming the first team to play and win a Superbowl on their home field. The final score read 31-9 as Tom Brady went on to win his seventh super bowl title in ten super bowl appearances. Tom Brady has now won more super bowl titles than every franchise in the NFL adding to his already unbelievable hall of fame resume.
Going into the game many analysts and NFL experts had the Kansas City Chiefs as the favorites to repeat as super bowl champions. Many, including myself, believed this game would be extremely close with a high score. This game was going to have amazing storylines regardless of the outcome.
Had the Chiefs repeated as champions the three-peat conversations would begin. A feat that has never been accomplished in the super bowl era.
Since Tom Brady did win the super bowl and his fifth Superbowl MVP he has reminded his doubters why out of all the greats that have come before him he is the greatest of all time.
Tom Brady is now the undisputed g.o.a.t(greatest of all time). Many fans believe this game would be the snatching of the torch, with Patrick Mahomes being the heir to Tom Brady’s Throne.
Based on Patrick Mahomes amazing resume thus far in his very young career and the accolades he has gained, people including myself were ready to put the young quarterback in the greatest of all-time conversation. However, the loss to Tom Brady has put Patrick Mahomes quest to overtake Tom Brady as the goat on hold.
Although this loss will never be forgotten, I do believe that Patrick Mahomes will redeem himself and win more championships in the near future.
This super bowl win is huge for Brady because it proves he didn’t need Bill Belichick to win the big game, it also proves that the “patriot way’’ is the Brady way.
Although Brady was a big reason as to why the Buccaneers won the game the defense played a key role in the team's victory. The defense held the best offense in the league to only nine points and they also didn’t allow a single touchdown to be scored against them.
Heading into the game never before had Patrick Mahomes lost a game by more than one possession, that incredible trend ended as they lost by twenty-two points.
Tom Brady the forty-three-year-old quarterback has had an amazing career up to this point in time. Tom Brady doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon as he looks to repeat with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season.
