Love is in the air at El Rancho High School during the week of Valentine’s Day! To show spirit for their school and for their love, ASB assembled a heart-warming experience throughout the week of Valentine’s day formerly known as Week of Love. Tuesday through Friday is an assortment of activities assembled by ASB. All are invited to bring their special someone or bring themselves to mingle like a Pringle. For those who aren’t taken, hang in there because this event is for everyone to enjoy! At lunch, ASB planned specific games and cute gestures to students all around. Tuesday is free hugs and the kind, appropriate chocolate treats known as Kisses. Wednesday is a romantic game of tic-tac-toe, with x’s and o’s. Thursday is Sticky note compliments everyone passes around as a friendly gesture. And Friday is, of course, photo booth picture for all to take pictures with that special someone. Throughout the week, students are asked to wear red, pink, and purple in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Not hosted by ASB, but as a celebration of Valentine’s Day, El Rancho’s Pride Alliance assembled its very own marriage ceremony! At the main gym during lunch, students had the opportunity to get fake married to anyone who was interested in a free marriage and certificate, including pictures under their altar, to commemorate the beauty and love for marriage.
Most of the school took the chance to show their love on the Week of Love freight-train! Chef Luna in room Q-4 also had some love to spread with food that included El Rancho’s special ed students to help collaborate the wonderful memory of Valentine’s Day! From Twitter, Chef Luna had this to say: “Valentine’s Day is more than what you create it to be. Share love, be kind, fall in respect with someone, make new friends, spread positive vibes, compliment someone, make someone’s day, share food, life people up, TRUE LOVE IS EVERY DAY.” Have a wonderful week of love at El Rancho and give thanks to the students and staff who participated and celebrated in Week of Love.
